Government launches Karibu Business Support Centres

Nairobi, April 15, 2024.

The Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry, Ms. Rebecca Miano, presided over the launch of Karibu Business Support Centre amidst pomp and colour in Nairobi.

This initiative is geared towards promoting and facilitating domestic and foreign investments besides improving the ease of doing business in Kenya.

The CS said Kenya’s aspiration of attaining the status of a Newly Industrialised Country by the year 2030 was premised on the creation of cumulative and sustainable trade, investments and industrial activities.

“This”, she said “called for concerted efforts to create a conducive environment for business and investment opportunities to be conceived, grown and expanded as viable and sustainable entities”.

Ms. Miano said that the Government was cognisant of the myriad challenges faced by entrepreneurs, investors, Medium and Small Industries and traders in navigating the complex web of business regulations and procedures that are required to set shop in Kenya.

“It is in this context that today we launch a one-stop shop- The Karibu Business Support Centres which is an initiative born from our commitment to fostering a vibrant and dynamic industrial and investment landscape,” said the CS.

These Centres will also be rolled out in Kisumu, Eldoret, Mombasa, and Kariobangi.

The initiative will provide Advisory services on investments, manufacturing and trade in addition to collection and dissemination of business information among other services.

She urged entrepreneurs to embrace the initiative and visit these centres including the online portal.

“Let us chart a course of shared success, building a vibrant industrial landscape that fuels our nation's economic engine,” she concluded.
