GERMAN-KENYAN FORUM HIGHLIGHTS FOOD PROCESSING AND PACKAGING

The PS for Industry DR. Juma Mukhwana, this afternoon graced the German-Kenya Food Processing and Packaging Forum in Nairobi. The various German institutions in the packaging and processing sectors, led by Delegate of German Industry and Commerce, Dr. Monika Erath.

 He noted that Kenya’s export portfolio in the food manufacturing sector had diversified significantly to today’s processed foods, beverages, canned vegetables, nuts, meat and dairy products, as well as horticultural goods.

 Collaborations between German food processing and packaging companies and Kenyan businesses, he emphasized, will enable the deployment of appropriate technologies for greater efficiency and effectiveness in food production. 

The week-long forum is also attended by CEOs and representatives of various German institutions and Kenyan companies, in showcasing various technologies in food processing and packaging, geared towards boosting exports to the European Market.
