Tour of two farm chemical industries, Twiga Chemical Industry and Osha chemical.

The PS for Industry Dr. Juma Mukhwana this afternoon made a tour of two farm chemical industries, Twiga Chemical Industry and Osha chemical.  Dr. Muhkwana expressed concern at the mushrooming kiosks near chemical plants without due consideration to potential outbreak of disasters. He called for a consultative meeting between manufacturers, County Government of Nairobi, Ministry of Health and the National Environmental Management Committee (NEMA) to conduct an audit of safety, health and International requirements under which chemical industries should operate to keep local citizens away from possible disasters. While touring Twiga Chemicals, the PS was taken round by Mr. Macharia while Mr. Manoj took him round at Osha Chemical factory.
