On December 4, 2023, PS Dr. Juma Mukhwana presided over the signing of 22 grant performance contracts under the Kenya Industry and Entrepreneurship Project. This will provide grants to select private firms and SMEs to undertake improvements in their production, management, innovation & technology processes.  It is expected to create more than 2,000 new full-time jobs, 50 new innovations and an increment in annual turnover of over 1.8 billion in the next 6–12 months. He was joined by the SDI team led by Ag. Industrialization Secretary Nobby Macharia and the KIEP Project Implementation Team.
